Happy Anniversary, Cricket

I think of you and remember you excitedly running down the hallway with the trainer four years ago the first time we met. Your enthusiasm filled the room and made it so easy to fall in love with you. It had been six months since my first guide dog, Pantera, had retired after working for nine years. I was eager to bond and again walk with the assistance of a guide dog. You didn't care that you had 'big paws' to fill as the second guide dog. You just had your 'own kind of paws' that are incredible. In a world where you can be anything, be yourself!  I love you Cricket.  I love your cute personality - your sweet snuggles and enthusiasm for life, your love and devotion to my safety, and even your sigh and sometimes a pout when dinner arrives a little late. I love your roles as not only my eyes but also your off-duty role as greeter at the office. You just know when someone needs a little love.

The picture below is with two of my classmates and their guides. Happy Anniversary to them as well. In training, we not only bond with our new dog but trainers and classmates.
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to you Cricket. I hope we have many more years of you by my side.

Happy Anniversary. I was going through old photo books this morning & came across photos of your graduation with Cricket. It didn't occur to me that this was your anniversary. Looking at the photos brought a huge smile to my face as I was remembering your graduation. Wishing you many more happy years together. xoxo
