Cricket

Thank you SO MUCH for all your support as we miss our Missy Girl. In time our sadness will turn to all the sweet, funny, cherished memories we have been blessed to have with our sweet, spunky pug!

Several of my clients today asked what was the matter with Cricket. I explained she is sad and grieving the loss of her little buddy, Missy. Although Missy wasn't an active playmate with Cricket like she was with my first guide, Pantera; Cricket loved her. She perked up when her name was mentioned. Cricket is super to walk past other dogs while she is in harness, except for a pug that she thought might be her Missy.
Cricket went with us to the vet and cried when Missy died just like she had done with Pantera . She's wanted lots of hugs today, and I have happily given them to her. Love you Cricket and Missy Girl.

Hey there Becky...
Another day...and I know the sadness persists. I'm just popping by to see how you are doing.
Each day is a new beginning! Although it doesn't feel like it now, over time, there will be wonderful things that will fill the big hole that Missy has left in your lives.
When we sent Maxdog to the bridge, Tammy displayed quite incredible (in the true sense of the word) canine grief. She took his raw hide treat, which he'd buried - being unable to eat it himself - and carried it around with her for days. She didn't chew it or try to eat it - she merely mouthed it and tossed it gently into the air, rolled in it and spent time with it. It is the most graphic display of canine grief that I've ever seen!
Cricket will feel Missy's absense, but it will get easier and the two of you will bond even deeper as you rely on each other to help fill that hole.
My thoughts and prayers remain with you, your family and Cricket. The blogging world has embraced you with the 'Power of the Paw' because we all, really do understand!
(((Hugs)))
With enormous love sent your way,
MAXMOM IN SOUTH AFRICA

Oh Cricket - How I wish I could be there to give you a hug. Kibby was so sad when we had to say good bye to Molly. I whis I could take some of your sadness. Sending you love. Katie & Kibby

It's amazing how dogs can emote. In the picture, Crcket actually looks sad.

Grief is so intense. Hope you undergo the process soon and then enjoy the cherished memories.

I'm so sorry at your loss of Missy...give Cricket a hug from Nurse Mary! Animals definitely grieve and need support just like we do. Cricket is resilient too and will move on when she is ready. Hugs to you all!

How touching that you've received so much love and support here. I wish Cricket could read the comments, too! Poor Cricket, she must feel the loss without fully understanding the details, which makes it all the more difficult. It's so nice that you can lavish Cricket with love and attention right now.

Becky I'm so so sorry for what you are going through right now. I lost my childhood pet (a little black poodle) soon after Kenny and I were married and I was so depressed for a long time. I very clearly remember the loss and hole in my heart. I'm so glad you and Cricket have each other and you have such an amazing loving family and of course all of your friends. Hang in there -- you are in my prayers.
