Someone found my blog through:
Cricket Love 2010 as the key words
. Let me tell you some of the reasons that there is Cricket Love in 2010 around here. With Missy gone, Cricket is trying so hard to be all dogs to all people around here. When Cricket came 3 1/2 years ago, she entered a pack of three! My retired guide dog, Pantera, had worked up to 6 months prior before Cricket joined us and our pug, Missy. If you were in our home, there was always a dog nearby. Three is a pack. Now, Cricket is the only dog and she is spreading her love the best she can. She was so playful today. At work, several clients noticed her playfulness and cute antics. (She generally has her harness off in my office most of the day.) We both loved yoga tonight. And when we returned home she was still very active and happy. She pulled out all her toys from her basket.
She puts her nose all the way into the basket to search for just the right bone to chew on
or just the right nyla ring (her favorite) to ask someone to play with
or her other favorite thing to do is haul out all her bones into the family room.
Cricket has such a sweet, gentle love about her. I am often in awe that this sweet girl has my safety as her primary focus in life. Can I ever give enough love back to her? Cricket Love in 2010 and many years to come.
Its interesting, in the past couple weeks I have been asked to give two presentations to veterinary clinics on pet loss and the grief journey. Missy had such a sweet presence in our home that we miss. Pantera had such a calm, loyal presence with a sprinkle of mischief that we miss. Cricket has such a presence of love and fun.

I found your blog through Brooke and Marques blog. I was leavning a comment on her 1/2 marathon post and read that you wanted to do the one in January in St. George.
I guess I just am leaving you a comment because I wanted to let you know that I did that race and I loved it. It was a tough run because of all of the hills, but it really was a great race. The weather was cold, but with the right running clothes it was my favorite part. I hope you find someone to run with you. You will enjoy it so much.
Hey there Becky...
It is truly amazing how some dogs reach for new experiences when their companions leave them. I watched as 'Aunt Tam' found her new found freedom - and eventual 'puppy hood - when Maxdog left us. She too showed her real gentle soul. You will find that you cultivate a deeper bond with Cricket - even though you thought you had the best. Enjoy her! Lovely pictures.

Yeah for Cricket Love!! We have come to love her too. :-)
Cricket embodies doggie love. I hope you do the presentations on pet grief. Some people are insensitive about the loss of a major mamber of the family.
