Thanks, Cricket

True story - just had a new client call.   She was interviewing therapists to see who would be the best fit for her daughter. She asked some good questions: how long have I been in practice? what experience did I have in this particular area? in general what would my treatment plan be for this situation? was I willing to spend 5 minutes on the phone prior to talk and answer her questions? They were some good, well thought out questions that I was happy to answer. (In the recommendation she had received for me, the previous client had mentioned that I had dog) In the end she said, because of the dog we feel like you would be the best fit. Thanks, Cricket.

I know for me having a therapist who at least can comprehend to some degree the relationship I have with my dogs especially James is very important. My friend had a therapist and the person just couldn't get the whole dog human bond stuff and she just kept trying to tell my friend "it's just a dog" when that is so not the truth. When my therapist (who very much understands how important my dogs are to me) retires I know when interviewing new ones I will have some questions about how they feel or their opinion on the human animal bond and their experiences with animals.

Ha ha! Was she joking or was she serious? Maybe some of both? I think she definitely was after the right criteria, especially the part about Cricket.
