My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Happiness

Thank you  Alphi  for the Sunshine & Happy 101 Awards and inviting us to share 10 and 12 things that bring us joy. I decided to share 10 things from me and 12 things from Cricket.

Happiness to Cricket (in no particular order) = 1. Dinner (this could also be listed for 2-10) 2. Service -- Whether it is helping me as a guide or comforting someone or playing -- she just loves to serve. 3. A fluffy snuggley bed -- she does not like when her bed gets flat.  The one at work needs to be replaced and she will work on fluffing it and then let out a sigh.   4. Lean into you and get her ears stroked. 5. To lean in and get her belly rubbed. 6. To be silly -- the cricker dance is how its referred to here. 7. A new adventure -- a new route, flying on an airplane, going somewhere new 8. Liver flavored nylabone. 9. Grooming time with chicken flavor toothpaste and her Firminator. 10. Visitors 11. A high reward treat  12. Yoga (she knows that word and runs to the door if you mention it).
Happiness to Becky (in no particular order) = 1. Tandem Bike Ride with Steve (well anything with Steve and my kids) 2. Yoga 3. Gardening 4. Baking Sugar Cookies 5. Shopping 6. Travelling - a new adventure. 7. A clean house 8. My work as a therapist 9. Hosting a Party 10. Family Time w/parents.  What makes you happy

I nominate all my blogging friends reading this that would like to share what brings them happiness!

According to Drs. Baker and Greenburg in their book - What Happy Women Know (one of my favorites and one many clients enjoy)they list the following as the 10 traits of Happy Women.   If the list seems daunting - even one can help bring us joy.
1. Believe in Yourself.
2. Know Your True North.
3. Take Personal Responsibility.
4. Have Courage.
5. Being Alturistic.
6. Embracing Optimism.
7. Being Proactive.
8. Appreciating Life.
9. Being Wise and Sharing Your Wisdom.
10. Persevering.
If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living.  Wherever you are-- if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.  Joseph Campbell.

There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.

Make a list of all the things that truly bring you joy, then count them.  How many are actually available for purchase?

Happy women know that downtime is not a luxury it is essential to well-being.

Hope you have a joyful Monday!  Hopefully this post isn't too perky for a Monday morning!

I had to laugh at the chicken flavored toothpaste! Cabana loves her chicken toothpaste, too--which makes it both easier and more difficult to brush her teeth. Thanks for the reminder that joy can't really be bought (although a great bargain buy can be pretty thrilling for a few hours at least...).

Excellent post for a Monday! Willow loves her chicken-flavored tooth paste and being groomed with her FURminator too. Well, actually she likes pretty much all of the things on Cricket's list. :-)

Great list of what makes you both happy.
Sorry I haven't left any comments recently, even though your posts have been great.
