Comfort and Challenge

The morning workout at Yoga was incredible. The room was very crowded so Cricket and I had to go to the front of the room. As usual the physical workout was awesome and also the mental insight gained. Today her message was simple but beautiful - we need comfort AND yes, challenge. As we are in a balance pose with legs shaking she asks - can we be present in our moment of challenge and invite the learning to occur? as we settle into child pose (relaxing - surrender pose) can we enjoy those moments of comfort without worrying when/if about that next challenge. We need both comfort and challenge in our lives. Her other one for the morning: what we don't complete we repeat. After Yoga I finally used a gift Steve had given me for my birthday - a facial at Garden Day Spa . I knew I wanted the comfort of a facial but the challenge of scheduling and being a little nervous about going there on my own had me putting it off for a few months. Finally, I put my challenge aside and I loved the experience. Cricket was wonderful and the staff was so helpful. I actually had the whole experience with very few questions about my dog! Let's see can you tell which is the before facial and after facial?

Love life with its comforts and its challenges. Speaking of facials, Cricket has had some most likely allergic reactions leading to a red nose this week. She has cream for her nose and it is doing much better. The vet suggested that I wash her face regularly. Any tips? (for some reason, she is not appreciating that we are singing - Cricket the red nosed guide dog...)
