Sugar Cookies

Love making sugar cookies. M & M's for the mouth and candy corn for the eyes and nose. Sometimes with a slight variation. I remember putting the m and m's on as a little girl with my mom. Then, my kids helping me, then sending them to Natalie (mostly arriving as crumbs), her now baking them, and lately little neighbor friends have helped me.
They are messy but fun. I love this plate given to me by my friend, Debi. You can loop ribbon through it for fun, too. What do you think of my cute little helper this year?
She seemed to be disappointed in the taste of flour as she tried to lick her nose.

Now you DO have a costume for Cricket! She can be the Cake Boss or Top Chef or some other cooking show diva!

For christmas my family makes stained glass sugar cookies. Those are sooo good! If you've never seen them it's a cut out sugar cookie, with then a smaller cut out in the middle that is then filled with crushed candies or candy cane. Then when it cooks, the candies melt making a stained glass effect. Very cool and very yum.

The plate is divinely inspired! I can live without cookies although Mirage couldn't. How fun it must be to bake 'blindfolded'. . .
