My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Self-compassion

I love my job. Reason today is: I just enjoyed an amazing conference part 2 on The power of Mindful Self-compassion by Dr. Christopher Gerner. A few quotes from the conference:

What's Self-compassion? bearing witness to one's own suffering, and responding with kindness and understanding.

We give ourselves kindness and understanding not to feel better, but because we feel pain.

Loving-Kindness Phrases

May I be safe
May I be happy
May I be healthy
May I live with ease

Pathways to Self-Compassion
Physical - Caring for your body
Mental - Allowing your thoughts
Emotional - Accepting your feelings
Relational - Connecting authentically with others.
Spiritual - Nurturing your values.

Exercise some self-compassion today.
