Friendship Bread

We spent the evening delivering our 'friendship bread' to neighbors along with 'the start' so in 10 days they can carry it on and deliver to more neighbors and friends.

We enjoyed an evening of visiting with friends and even scored some yummy strawberry shortcake as we gave our bread.

If you haven't tried this before, it is fun. If anyone wants 'a start' of the bread mixture, let me know! Anyone else done this before? Steve is in charge of tending the start (personally I was ready to throw it away) and baked the first batch 10 days ago and greeted Christy and I at the airport with a start and a loaf of bread ... now, in 10 more days we will have enough to make six loaves. You can see it keeps multiplying and will soon take over our house.

This sounds like a very nice idea to get acquainted. . .

I have received that a couple of times but can't seem to get past a few days....my bag gets too much air in it and then gets a hole in it!! I can't seem to make it work!! I would really like to try the finished product of that bread...some day maybe?!

Suzy - yes, it is a fun way to connect with friends and neighbors.

Lacey - it is yummy and worth the effort! Next time we get together, I'll have some bread ... we better get together soon - then before I destroy it.
