Grateful for the Day and Cricket's Eyesight!

We just returned home from the opthalmologist/vet (Dr. MacLaren at the Eye Care Clinic). She is FABULOUS! Cricket has supported me on several of my opthalmologist visits . I did not expect to be sitting on the other side of the table - nervously anticipating the outcome as they examined her pupils, measured her tears - while she had to hold still and be cute for 1 minute with strips in her eyes, examined the pigmentation that had been discovered on her eye (which gratefully the Dr reassured me at this point is not a concern but indicated we have a fabulous vet to pick up on this change. We will return in 3 months to have it evaluated again. This is all manageable and she can see fine and continue her work! Yipee!! Having the last few days to reflect on Cricket, the possibility of her having something that could damage her vision, and the worry I have had for her has given me some empathy for my dear family and how they must feel watching my vision deteriorate. I am reminded how we go along in our life and sometimes have such a reminder to not take our life and the blessings of each day for granted. I appreciate each day this sweet guide can be by my side doing what she loves. Life is good. Thanks Natalie for your post today ... can't wait to see you, Adam & Dahlia next week! Some interesting dog eyesight facts I learned today from Dr. MacLaren: dogs can see at 20/75 and they don't have a macula!
