Off to Portland ...

Cricket and I are leaving for Portland after work today. We are going to the Fall Guide Dog Luncheon and spending time with our good friends, Steve & Debi (Desma and Dakota, too!). Last year I attended the luncheon for the first time and was moved to tears with the stories of how a guide dog impacts a person's life and its very fun when the special little guests (new puppies) arrive.

I love to experience Cricket work in an airport ... she has had a lot of experience over the past 18 months. She seems to know it is an exciting place where we are off to an adventure and also senses that I am out of my comfort zone and gets in her 'work mode.'

She looks absolutely precious in her scarf. I am sure she is quite relieved to know she is going this time.

Girl, I can't keep up with you! You have sand in your shoes!!!

I hope you have a good flight! I love watching guides work in airports, they brig such a sense of calm to an otherwise hectic place!
