Cricket and I love to do lunch... or breakfast or dinner or meet for ice cream with friends. Seriously, one day we met friends for all three meals - no wonder my pants are shrinking.
This is a picture of my good friend, Gerrie and me after lunch today. Cricket seemed to just move into the photo position.
We stopped by at her house so she could share some of her delicious vegetables from her garden. There are many reasons that I love Gerrie -- some of which are: for the past 6 years after we were no longer in the same church calling together she said 'we are going to stay in touch' and so every month we go to lunch. I love that she made this possible and can't imagine a month going by without getting to see her and get caught up on our lives. She has an amazingly beautiful flower garden and has helped me so much with mine. (Which reminds me I forgot to ask her how to divide my hostas) She is so sweet and thoughtful sending cards for special days and for ordinary days. She loves and adores my guides. A funny note about Gerrie and Pantera: when we were hiking with a group of girls it was lunch break and I had taken Pantera's harness off. We were focusing on getting her some water to drink and Gerrie had her sandwich right under Pantera's nose as she was angling the water -- well, the sandwich got snatched up by Pantera -- it was just too tempting for this new guide to resist. Gerrie reminded me of this story when she brought flowers when Pantera was sick -- we enjoyed the sweet (and little bit naughty Pantera moment) She has welcomed Cricket into her heart (and car) and we love her!

We get caught up in so much crap in life...it is so important to have good friends and be greatful for them.
What is a sandwich snatching among friends??? Not that I have had it happen to me or anything...and that Truth is so smart she knows I can't stay mad at her....
It's the friends that we meet along the way, the makes life's journey more fun & interesting. I would love to meet Gerrie one day & see her beautiful flower garden. Thanks for the photo of Lori. I feel like I know her too. I know you've shared alot of years together & I wished I could have met her. Hey, I have an idea..........I'm sure you'll go to Indiana to see her, so maybe I'll join you. I can see my family at the same time. My family would be thrilled to meet you & Cricket. Love, Debi
